Meet the Californiac, Crazy about California
Hello, and thanks for stopping by! My name is Tara, and what can I say, I love California, and I love travel. A California native who was born in Hollywood, I was raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles by a family who was proud to call California home. As a child, I spent a lot of time with my grandparents, who originated from Chicago. Although it is a beautiful city full of culture, it is also known for its cold and blustery winters. They decided to pack up and join the California dreaming movement and take good ‘ol Route 66 out west to California. They settled and never looked back. My late grandfather used to take me out on drives exploring the city and showing me all the many beautiful and interesting places that Los Angeles has to offer. He was so proud to be a Californian, and loved this state with all his heart. It was a love that I never truly understood until I moved to Oregon and lived away from my home state for 15 years. Oregon is also a place full of natural beauty, but after living there for so long, I just couldn’t shake my memories of my life in the sun, always playing and having something to do. After a turn of events happened in my personal life, I found myself free to make the leap of faith and move back to my home.
Like my grandparents, I settled in, I put down my roots, and never looked back. They say that absence make the heart grow fonder, well, that is a truth that I can attest to, as I love California more today than I ever did in my life. The key to this love is appreciation. It is an appreciation for the weather, and the endless opportunities for exploration that it provides. Since I have been back, I have been exploring as much as I could, and also acquired annual passes for the many Southern California attractions, including Disneyland, a place that never gets old for me. Taking photos along the way during these adventures, I finally decided to put it all in one place to share with the rest of the world. I hope that my perspective and experience in my travels will help people looking to inspire their own adventures. May you all find adventure, and enjoy the journey, because the journey can hold as many wonders as the destination itself.
